The Tännichtwasser is a right-hand tributary of the Kaltbach or Scheidenbach in Sohland on the Spree in the Saxon district of Bautzen with a length of almost five kilometers.

description

The Tännichtwasser rises on the northeast slope of the Kinderberg ( Liščí vrch , 480  m ) near Neudorf . Its upper course leads north of the Friedrich-August-Höhe ( 469  m ) to the east. Then the stream increases steeply sloping northern direction and flows at the eastern foot of Tännichtberges ( 461  m ) to Tännicht past where it is accumulated in Tännichtteich. On its lower course, the brook flows in a north-easterly direction, south and east, past Pilzdörfel , where it is bridged by the federal road 98 , into the Neuscheidenbacher Grund, where it was dammed in the three Wehrsdorf ponds until the middle of the 19th century. Between Neuscheidenbach and Petersbach , the Tännichtwasser flows into the Kaltbach at the southeastern foot of the Hohberg ( 426  m ).

Tännichtteich

The Tännicht pond, which is now heavily silted up, was created in 1912. As part of the planning for an outdoor swimming pool in Wehrsdorf , the owner of the pond, Gerhard Augst, offered it in 1926 with written support from the residents of Tännicht and Pilzdörfel. Due to objections from residents of the Tännichtwasser, these plans were dropped from 1928 and the Wehrsdorf forest pool was finally built elsewhere.

Tributaries

The Tännichtwasser has no noteworthy tributaries.
