ED ring

ED Ring (* 1888 near Cave City , Arkansas , † after 1947) was an American soldier, teacher, school principal and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

ED Ring was born on a farm near Cave City in 1888. Nothing is known about his youth. Ring graduated from Arizona State Teachers College in Tempe ( Maricopa County ). After graduating, he worked in California .

During the First World War he served in the military. After the war he worked again as a teacher and later as a principal in Laveen (Maricopa County). In the early 1930s he became superintendent of Maricopa County. One of his concerns was vocational training. In this context, he traveled around the county doing slide shows. Thereby he tried to arouse the children's interest in profitable main interests.

In the 1940 election he was elected Superintendent of Public Instruction of Arizona . Ring began his two-year term in office in early 1941. He was re-elected twice in a row and held the post from 1941 to 1947. His term of office was overshadowed by the Second World War .
