Albert Powel Shewman

Albert Powel Shewman (born September 24, 1866 in Oil Springs , Canada , † January 20, 1901 in Mesa , Arizona Territory ) was an American politician .

Career

Albert Powel Shewman, son of Carlton Miller Shewman (1832-1913) and his wife Elizabeth (1841-1931; maiden name: Harrison), was born in 1866 in the province of Ontario .

The governor of Arizona Territory Benjamin Franklin Joseph appointed him in 1897 as the new Superintendent of Public Instruction from the Arizona Territory to the vacancy to fill, by the resignation of Thomas E. Dalton was born on March 2, 1897th He held the post until his resignation in 1898, during which time he served on the Arizona Board of Regents .

With his wife Ada, nee Gibbons, they had a daughter named Pearl (* 1889).

After his death he was buried in the Mesa city cemetery.
