Linne D. Klemmedson

Linne D. Klemmedson (born September 7, 1894 in Colorado Springs , Colorado , † January 23, 1963 ) was an American soldier, teacher and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

Not much is known about Linne D. Klemmedson. Klemmedson served as a privateer in Company B of the 329th  Infantry Regiment during the First World War . He then attended the Colorado Agricultural College, where he made his Bachelor of Science in animal husbandry in 1923 and his master's degree in Agricultural Education in 1927 . From 1927 to 1937 he served on the faculty of the College of Agriculture at the University of Arizona . Klemmedson became chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Home Economics with the rank of full professor. The world economic crisis overshadowed these years.

In 1937 he switched to the private sector, where he worked for two years.

He then became State Supervisor in the Department of Education for Vocational Agricultural Education in 1939 . Klemmedson taught at Phoenix College , where he established the Agricultural Education department . During World War II he was State Supervisor of Vocational Education for the War Production Training Program in Arizona.

The governor of Arizona Sidney Preston Osborn then appointed him on 16 September 1947 the new Superintendent of Public Instruction from Arizona to the vacancy to fill, by the resignation of Nolan D. Pulliam was born. In the 1948 election he ran for the post of Superintendent of Public Instruction of Arizona, but suffered a loss in the Democratic primary to ML Brooks and left office in January 1949.

Klemmedson was buried in Prescott National Cemetery .
