Kirsten Lühmann (born April 28, 1964 in Oldenburg (Oldenburg) ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and deputy federal chairwoman of the DBB Beamtenbund and Tarifunion . Since the 2009 election she is member of the Bundestag and since January 2014 spokesperson for the Working Group on Transport and digital infrastructure of the SPD parliamentary group .

Life

Kirsten Lühmann lives in Hermannsburg in the Celle district . In 1983, she put her high school in Wildeshausen and joined one of the first protective police officers at the Police of Lower Saxony at their service. From 1999 to 2002 she completed her studies for promotion to the higher police service. She is now a police superintendent.

She has been married since 1988 and has three daughters and six grandchildren.

Kirsten Lühmann is deputy chairwoman of the SPD subdistrict of Celle , deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group in the district council of the district of Celle. She ran in the constituency of Celle-Uelzen in the 2009 Bundestag election to succeed Peter Struck , who after 29 years of membership in the Bundestag did not stand for re-election. With 32.3% of the first votes, it missed the direct mandate in 2009 and entered the German Bundestag for the first time via the state list. After the federal elections in 2013, she came back to the German Bundestag via the state list as a member of the Bundestag. Her main topics are transport policy and local politics.

Since January 2014 she has been the spokesperson for the transport and digital infrastructure working group of the SPD parliamentary group. She is also a member of the Municipal Subcommittee. Kirsten Lühmann is also a deputy member of the Interior Committee and the Joint Committee. She is the chairwoman of the Verein Berliner Republik e. V. and deputy member of the advisory board for questions relating to access to the railway infrastructure.

Since July 2014 she has held a position on the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bahn AG .

Kirsten Lühmann has been a member of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly since December 12, 2019 . She is the chairwoman of the SPD in the investigative committee on the car toll , which met for the first time in December 2019.
