Kirstie Mary Allsopp (born August 31, 1973 in Hampshire , England ) is a British television presenter and journalist . She is known as the presenter of the TV magazine Location, Location, Location ; Relocation, relocation ; Location revisited ; The Property Chain and Kirstie's Homemade Home . She moderates all magazines with the exception of the last two with Phil Spencer.

Life

Allsopp is the daughter of Charles Henry Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip and former chairman of the well-known auction house Christie's . Her mother Fiona McGowan worked as a freelance interior designer and had her own architectural office . Allsopp has three siblings, a brother and two sisters. Her sister Sofie Allsopp also works as a television presenter.

Her father's title gives her the title The Honorable Kirstie Allsopp .

She attended various schools including St. Clotilde's in Lechlade , Gloucestershire and Bedales , near Petersfield , Hampshire . Allsopp spent some time in India teaching English there . On her return to the UK , she worked for Country Living and Food & Homes magazines, as well as her mother's company, Hindlip & Prentice Interiors . At Christie's , Allsopp took courses in art history .

She also started her own real estate company, Kirmir Property Search .

Allsopp has also been an advisor to the Conservative Party on housing issues since December 2007 .

Like other presenters, Allsopp was accused on various occasions of irresponsibly nurturing the desire to own a home in the context of their television programs, which led to financial over-indebtedness among those interested. She defended herself from such accusations by bringing in The Times wrote, "to make such programs and their facilitators responsible for the current uncertain state of the property market, would be just as if you TV chefs for the numerous cases of obesity to blame tries".

Her partner is the real estate agent Ben Andersen and they have two children. She is also the stepmother of Andersen's two children from a previous relationship. They currently live in London.

In October 2009, several English newspapers reported that if the Tories won the election, Allsopp might be appointed Life Peer . However, official confirmation or nomination has not yet been announced.
