background

After Gomez worked as an actress and singer on the Disney Channel since 2007 , she announced in July 2008 that she had signed a record deal with Hollywood Records . Then Gomez had musicians cast to find members for a band, as she initially did not want to work as a solo artist. In August 2009, Gomez announced the band's name, Selena Gomez & the Scene . Kiss & Tell was released as the band's debut album just a month later . Gomez also said that she recorded over a hundred songs for the album and that it was difficult for her to decide which songs should end up on the album.
