Kjeld Gustav Knuth-Winterfeldt
Count Kjeld Gustav Knuth-Winterfeldt zu Rosendal (born February 17, 1908 in Frederiksberg ; † December 22, 1992 at Gut Rosendal ) was a Danish court marshal , chamberlain and diplomat.
Life
Kjeld Gustav Knuth-Winterfeldt came from the branch line Knuth-Winterfeldt of the Mecklenburg-Danish nobility Knuth . His father Viggo Christian Knuth-Winterfeldt was a bank director and founder of the Knuth-Winterfeldt family. His mother was Anna Eleonora Frederikke Elisabeth Knuth-Winterfeldt, née Holck-Winterfeldt. His brothers were Preben and Eggert Knuth-Winterfeldt .
In 1926 Knuth-Winterfeldt began his studies in Roskilde , in 1931 he graduated as cand. Jur. and became vicar in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . In 1933 he became secretary and in 1935 vice consul in Hamburg . In 1938 he became legation secretary in Tokyo . In 1942 he again served as secretary in the Foreign Ministry. In 1950 Knuth-Winterfeldt was appointed envoy in Buenos Aires and also in Montevideo , La Paz and Santiago de Chile , and in 1951 in Asunción . In 1953 he became head of the foreign ministry, 1956 assistant head of department. In 1954 he became head of the Foreign Ministry's acquisition office. In 1956 he became assistant chief for the economic-political department. In 1957 he became head of the Danish labor delegation in India . In the same year he became ambassador to Ghana , 1958 in Washington , 1965 in Paris , 1966 in Bonn and thus at the same time head of the Danish military mission in West Berlin . In 1972 he became court marshal.
Knuth-Winterfeldt was a Grand Cross Knight of the Dannebrog Order .
Marriage and offspring
On December 8, 1938, Knuth-Winterfeldt married Gertrud Lina Baumann. The marriage had three children, all of whom bear the title of count or countess:
