The steam locomotive series kkStB 288 were tank locomotives of the kkStB , which originally came from the Bohemian West Railway (BWB). There they had no numbers but the names DOBRICHOWITZ and REWNITZ and formed the series S.

These small, double-coupled tank locomotives were delivered by Krauss in Munich in 1884 . It had internal frames and external controls.

At the kkStB it was first designated from 1894 (after the nationalization of the BWB) with 88.71–72, from 1905 then as 288.71–72.

They were retired before 1918.
