Klaudia Friedl

Klaudia Friedl (born March 21, 1963 in Steinberg an der Rabnitz ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and executive. She is mayor of the market town of Steinberg-Dörfl and was a member of the Austrian National Council from November 2017 to October 2019 . Before that she was a member of the Burgenland State Parliament from 2010 to 2017 . On November 1, 2019, Klaudia Friedl was appointed managing director of Pflegeservice Burgenland GmbH. The PSB offers an employment model for caring relatives, which is unique in Austria.

Life

Friedl attended secondary school after elementary school and completed her education with a visit to a commercial academy. Friedl works as a commercial clerk and was most recently employed as administrative director.

politics

Friedl began her political career when she was elected councilor of Steinberg-Dörfl on March 28, 2003 . She was also elected to the district committee of the SPÖ- Oberpullendorf on October 21, 2004 and was also heavily involved in the SPÖ women's organizations, whereby she also became a member of the SPÖ district women's executive committee on October 21, 2004. On March 6, 2007, she took on the role of deputy chairwoman in the district women's executive committee, and on May 1, 2007 she was elected to the regional women's executive committee of the SPÖ Burgenland. On April 29, 2009, she finally rose to be the district chairwoman. Friedl has also been a member of the district executive committee since March 24, 2007. Friedl ran in the regional elections in Burgenland 2010 in third place in the district nomination for the regional constituency of Oberpullendorf and subsequently moved into the state parliament on June 24, 2010 as a new member of the state parliament of the SPÖ.

Before that, she became mayor of Steinberg-Dörfl in 2006 after Franz Schneller (ÖVP).

In 2017 she ran - behind Hans Peter Doskozil - in second place in the Burgenland electoral district in the National Council election . After Hans Peter Doskozil announced that he would be moving to the Burgenland provincial government as financial councilor, Friedl took up the national council mandate and was sworn in as a member for the first time in the constituent national council meeting on November 9, 2017. In June 2019, it was announced that she would no longer run for the 2019 National Council election.
