Klaudia Schifferle

Klaudia Schifferle (born September 22, 1955 in Zurich ) is a Swiss painter , sculptor and draftsman . Until 1983 she was a member of the post-punk band Kleenex / LiLiPUT .

life and work

Schifferle grew up in Zurich. After a sales apprenticeship, she attended the F + F School for Art and Media Design in Zurich from 1973 to 1976 . In 1975 she received a scholarship from the City of Zurich, as well as grants from the Canton of Aargau in 1977 and 1980 . In 1977 she was a founding member of the women's band Kleenex (later LiLiPUT) as a singer and bassist . As a musician, songwriter, author, actress and visual artist, she was in contact with the youth subculture in Zurich called “movement”.

In 1980 she took part in the Saus und Braus exhibition at the Städtische Galerie zum Strauhof in Zurich and received the Kiefer Hablitzel scholarship . In 1982, at the age of 27 - as the youngest artist up to that point - she was invited to Documenta 7 by Rudi Fuchs . In 1983 she received the Montreux Jazz Festival Prize (as a musician) and the Vordemberge Gildewart Foundation Prize (as a visual artist). In 1988 she moved to Milan and from there in 1991 to a mountain village in the canton of Ticino .

Schifferle has lived and worked in Zurich again since 2002.
