Klaus-Peter Bachmann
Klaus-Peter Bachmann (born February 24, 1951 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German politician and was Vice President of the Lower Saxony State Parliament from February 2013 to November 2017 . He is married and has one child.
education and profession
After attending school, Bachmann completed an apprenticeship as a freight forwarder . From 1970 to 1980 he was at the Wolfenbüttel district adult education center. On the side he attended the municipal administration school with a final administrative examination. From 1980 to 1998 he held managerial positions at the workers' welfare organization, most recently from 1983 to 1998 managing director in the Braunschweig administrative district and deputy managing director of Lower Saxony.
politics
Bachmann has been a member of the SPD since 1968 . From 1972 to 1989 he was councilor and alderman of the city of Wolfenbüttel and since 1981 chairman of the local SPD parliamentary group. Between 1986 and 1989 he was also a member of the district council of the Wolfenbüttel district . In 2006 he ran for mayor in Wolfenbüttel, but was already defeated by the CDU applicant Thomas Pink in the first ballot .
From 1994 to 2017 Klaus-Peter Bachmann was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. There he was spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for internal affairs and sport until 2013; from 2013 to 2017 he was Vice President of the State Parliament. In the state election in Lower Saxony in 2017 , he did not run again.
Bachmann has been a member of the association assembly of the regional association for the greater Braunschweig area since 2006 .
Other activities
Bachmann has been involved in the social sector since he was 15. Among other things, he was the city youth council chairman and deputy district chairman of the Jusos . He was also a juvenile judge and a lecturer in adult education.
In addition to his membership in the SPD and the workers' welfare organization, one of Bachmann's special passions is carnival . Since May 2018 he has been president and first chairman of one of the three large Braunschweig carnival societies, the Mascheroder Carnival Society Rot-Weiß 1965 eV In this function, he is also part of the Braunschweig Carnival Committee (KBK), which u. a. organizes the Braunschweiger Schoduvel .
In addition, Bachmann is represented in numerous other associations and a. Member of the Workers' Samaritan Federation , the Social Association of Germany , the Auto Club Europa , the nature lovers , the German Multiple Sclerosis Society , the German Fire Service Association and ver.di .
