Klaus Bepler

Klaus Bepler (born April 15, 1947 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German lawyer and former presiding judge at the Federal Labor Court .

Live and act

From 1966 to 1970, Bepler studied law, history and psychology at the universities of Marburg an der Lahn and Frankfurt am Main . In 1971 he passed his first state examination in law. This was followed by several years of work as a research assistant and assistant to Herbert Fenn at the University of Bonn . The second state examination in law followed in 1976. In 1980 Bepler entered labor jurisdiction . From 1986 to 1988 he worked as a seconded research assistant at the Federal Labor Court . After working at the labor courts in Aachen , Bonn and Cottbus and, since April 1993, at the then Brandenburg State Labor Court , he was appointed judge at the Federal Labor Court in May 1993 . Initially assigned to the Fourth Senate, from 1994 he was a member of the Third Senate. This was followed in December 2004 by the appointment as presiding judge and in January 2005 by taking over the chairmanship of the 4th Senate of the Federal Labor Court. On May 31, 2012, Bepler retired.

In addition to his judicial work, Bepler participated in academic teaching. Since 2009 he has been an honorary professor at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . Bepler also chairs the mediation committee of the central commission for the regulation of employment contract law in the ecclesiastical service of the Catholic Church in Germany.
