Herbert Fenn

Herbert Fenn (born February 8, 1935 in Offenbach am Main , † September 30, 2001 in Barcelona ) was a German legal scholar, dancer and sports official .

Fenn studied law in Frankfurt am Main . After two state examinations in law , he embarked on a career as a university lecturer and completed his habilitation in 1970 with a thesis on working in the services of family members. In 1971 he was appointed to the University of Bonn , where he held the chair for civil law , labor law and civil procedure law until his death . Most recently, his academic focus was on sports law .

In the late 1960s, Fenn was also an active sports dancer who participated in international championships. After his active time, he volunteered as a judge and dance sports official. From 1992 to 1998 he was President of the German Dance Sports Association . He then was a member of the anti-doping commission at the German Sports Association , a predecessor organization of NADA . From 2000 until his death, he held the office of Secretary General of the International Dance Sport Federation (IDSF).
