Bayerbach is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn and a member of the Bad Birnbach administrative community .

geography

Geographical location

Bayerbach is located in the Landshut region in the Rott Valley, not far from the B 388, about 18 km east of the district town of Pfarrkirchen , 13 km west of Pocking , 31 km south of Vilshofen , 24 km north of Simbach and 40 km from Passau . Bayerbach has its own train station on the Passau – Neumarkt-Sankt Veit line , and the Pocking junction of the A 3 is around 20 km away.

history

Until the church is planted

The place was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark , whose seat was Bayerbach. Bayerbach belonged among other things to the nobles of Etzenberg, the counts of Tattenbach and the counts of Arco auf Valley . The corresponding castle with three corner towers stood north of the parish church. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the municipality of Steinberg, to which Bayerbach belonged, was created with the municipal edict of 1818 . It was renamed Bayerbach in 1875 .

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, part of the previously independent community of Kindlbach was reclassified to Bayerbach.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018, the municipality grew from 1,596 to 1,695 by 99 inhabitants or 6.2%.

The municipal council consists of the first mayor and twelve councilors. The municipal council election on March 17, 2020 had the following result:

The first mayor is Günter Baumgartner (CSU / FW). He has been in office since May 1, 2020. His deputy is Alfons Göttl (CSU / FW). From 2014 to 2020 Josef Sailer (UWG) was mayor.

Administrative community

The municipality of Bayerbach has formed an administrative community with Markt Bad Birnbach since 1978, based in Bad Birnbach. The Bad Birnbach market, as a larger partner within the administrative community with Dagmar Feicht (CSU, Mayor of Bad Birnbach), is the chairwoman of the VG - her deputy is Günter Baumgartner (CSU / FW, Mayor of Bayerbach).

Culture and sights

  • The Baroque pilgrimage church Maria Himmelfahrt , which was consecrated in 1686 after more than fifty years of construction, is located in the district of Langwinkl .
  • The Gothic parish church of St. Petrus was built from the former castle chapel. It underwent several redesigns in the second half of the 19th century and during the renovation in 1970.

In 2017, according to official statistics, there were 81 employees in the manufacturing sector and 63 in trade, transport and hospitality at the place of work. In other economic sectors 3 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 710 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were no companies in the manufacturing or construction industry. In 2016 there were also 34 farms with a total of 1340 ha of agricultural land, of which 1148 ha were arable land and 191 ha were permanent green space.

In 2018 there was a kindergarten with 68 kindergarten places and 69 children. Elementary and middle schools are located in the neighboring Bad Birnbach, where there is also a youth music school.
