Klaus Conrad (economist)

Klaus Conrad (born October 4, 1940 in Halle (Saale) ; † January 7, 2015 in Western Cape , South Africa ) was a German business mathematician and economics teacher.

Life

Conrad studied from 1960 at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich Business Mathematics . In 1961 he was reciprocated in the Corps Suevia Munich . As a graduate mathematician and scientific assistant, he began his academic career in 1966 at the Chair of Econometrics at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen (Hans Jürgen Jaksch). In 1970 he was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. With a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation , he went to Harvard University for two years in 1972 . He was a Research Fellow at Dale Jorgenson . Returned to Tübingen and habilitated in econometrics since 1975 , he worked from July 1976 in a special research area under Wilhelm Krelle in Bonn. In 1977, he was for economic theory and econometrics at the Law and Political Science Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn umhabilitieren . In 1980 he followed the reputation of the University of Mannheim to the Chair for Economics , especially Microeconomics . Conrad and his wife regularly visited their daughter and grandchildren in South Africa. There, the son-in-law was killed as a pilot in a plane crash. Conrad drowned while bathing near Cape Town .
