Klaus Enold

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klaus Enold (born April 16, 1941 ) was a soccer player with the GDR upper division SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt and Motor Zwickau and played seven times in the GDR junior national team and twice in the GDR youth team.

Athletic career

Enold learned the football ABC at the company sports community (BSG) unit in the central Saxon city of Mittweida . In March 1959 he played his first of seven games in the GDR's national junior team. All of these games took place in 1959. He was always used as a right defender and mostly played with the later national players Manfred Geisler , Wolfgang Barthels , Jürgen Nöldner and Rainer Nachtigall . At that time, Enold was already with SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt , whose men's team played in the third-class 2nd GDR league and in 1960 rose to the 1st GDR league . After Enold had played a game with the GDR youth team that year, he was delegated at the beginning of the 1961/62 season to the upper division SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt playing in Aue . There he became a regular player and played 31 of the 39 point games in his first league season. On May 8, 1962, he played one more game with the GDR youth team, his last international appearance. After he had only been used eleven times in the SC Wismut league team in 1962/63, Enold moved to local rivals BSG Motor Zwickau, who also played in the major league and had just won the GDR soccer cup , for the 1963/64 season . But even in Zwickau he could not really gain a foothold, in two seasons he just made five appearances in the major league. At the age of 24 and with the experience of a total of 47 league games, Enold went to GDR league club Motor Wema Plauen in the summer of 1965 . There he was urgently needed and immediately used in all 30 point games. Enold was active in Plauen until 1972 and then took over the training of the team. After a private entry on the Internet, he died early.
