Klaus Eyferth

Klaus Eyferth (born November 9, 1928 in Jena ; † July 19, 2012 ) was a German psychologist.

He studied at the University of Hamburg , where he received his diploma in 1954, his doctorate in 1958 and his habilitation in 1964. During his time at the University of Hamburg, he researched the IQ values ​​of children of German mothers whose fathers were black and white American soldiers stationed in Germany . Eyferth's study was first published in 1959 in the journal Vita Humana under the title An Examination of the Negro Mixed Race Children in West Germany .

In 1965 Eyferth taught as an adjunct university professor in Saarbrücken and from the following year as a professor at the TH Darmstadt . In 1973 he joined the faculty of the Technical University of Berlin with the intention of founding a psychological institute. As a member of the German Society for Psychology , he hosted its conference in Berlin in 1988. In 1995 he retired and became professor emeritus at the TU Berlin the following year. He died on July 19, 2012 at the age of 83 and was buried in the Berlin cemetery in Zehlendorf (field 008-806).
