Jianping Hey

Jianping He (born February 26, 1973 in Fuyang , China ), also known as Jumping He, is a German- Chinese graphic designer , professor and publisher . He lives and works in Berlin .

education

Jianping He studied graphic design at the China Academy of Art (1991-1994) and graduated in 1995 with his bachelor's degree. From 1997 to 2001 he studied fine arts under Heinz Jürgen Kristahn at the University of the Arts in Berlin , where he received his diploma and became a master student in 2001 . In 2011 he received his doctorate in cultural history from the Free University of Berlin .

Teaching and public work

He taught at the Berlin University of the Arts from 2001–2008, and was employed as a visiting professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and as a doctoral professor at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou from 2006–2019. In 2002 he founded his design studio hesign based in Berlin. In 2008 he opened a second branch in Hangzhou, China. He was a member of the Examination Board for Diploma at the French Art School Penninghen , Paris. He was also a member of the jury of numerous international competitions, such as the 100 best posters of the year - Germany , Austria , Switzerland , the International Biennale of Theater Poster , Rzeszow , the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw , the International Poster Biennial , Ningbo, the Red Dot Design Award and the DFA Design for Asia Award in Hong Kong . Since 2005 he has been a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale .

Exhibitions

Exhibitions took place in over 50 cities around the world, including Germany, Malaysia, Slovenia, China, Taiwan and Japan.

Awards

He received a grant from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation from 1999 to 2001 . In 2011 he was awarded the "DAAD Prize for Outstanding Achievements by Foreign Students at German Universities" from the German Academic Exchange Service. In Essen, in 2006, he received the German "Poster Art Hof Rüttenscheid Prize". His works have received awards worldwide:
