Klaus Fischer (born June 27, 1948 , citizen of Gettnau and Triengen ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Fischer completed the Matura type A at the Stiftsschule Engelberg . He later studied history , German literature and philosophy at the universities of Basel (graduated with a licentiate ) and Zurich (graduated with a high school teacher diploma ). From 1977 to 2005 he was a teacher at the grammar school in Oberwil and from 1990 to 2001 methodology teacher at the Pedagogical Institute in Basel .

Fischer lives in Hofstetten , is married and has two children.

politics

Between 1997 and 2005, Fischer was on the Cantonal Council of Solothurn , where he headed the Education and Culture Commission. At the same time he chaired the CVP of the canton of Solothurn from 2003 to 2005. He was also from 2001 to 2005 Mayor of Hofstetten-Flüh . In 2005 he was elected to the government council and has since been head of the Department of Education and Culture. In 2012, Klaus Fischer announced that he would no longer stand in the 2013 government council elections.
