Klaus Küspert

Klaus Küspert (born December 2, 1955 in Wiesbaden ) holds the chair for databases and information systems at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena .

Life

He received his Abitur in 1974 in Idstein im Taunus , completed his military service and immediately began studying computer science with a minor in operational applications at the Technical University of Darmstadt , which he graduated with a diploma in 1980 .

In the following four years he did his doctorate as a research assistant in the data management systems group at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Kaiserslautern .

From 1985 to 1994 he worked at the Scientific Center of IBM in Heidelberg in the Advanced Information Management department, which he took over as head in 1990. From the same year he took on teaching assignments for the universities in Mannheim , Chemnitz and Jena. From 1992 he headed the Institute for Databases and Software Engineering, but was called to Jena in 1995, where he received the chair for Databases and Information Systems.

Klaus Küspert researched the partitioning of database tables and archiving in database systems. The current research focus is Autonomic Database Performance Tuning.

Private

Today Klaus Küspert lives with two of his three children in St. Leon-Rot in Baden-Württemberg .
