Klaus Kiunke

Klaus-Dieter Günter Roland Kiunke (born August 30, 1965 in Hochheim ) is a German entrepreneur and author .

Life and work

Model Car World GmbH

In 2001, the programmer Kiunke and his wife, who is now running the company , founded an online mail order company for model cars called Model Car World , or MCW for short , in Flörsheim am Main . This offers the brands Bburago , Corgi , Herpa , Minichamps and Wiking . In addition, own model making brands are sold.

In 2009, American Excellence , based in Fort Myers, was set up for the American market, specializing in American models .

Legal disputes

VW lawsuit against Premium ClassiXXs

From summer 2016, there was a legal dispute between VW and Premium ClassiXXs . It was about the refusal to pay license fees. Premium ClassiXXs should no longer offer the VW Bulli true to scale and as a model. The German Association of the Toy Industry acted as a supporter of the defendant company . In February 2020, VW withdrew a lawsuit before the Düsseldorf regional court regarding the VW Bulli.

Lego lawsuit against BB Services GmbH

At the end of 2019, Lego obtained an injunction against BB Services GmbH. There was a seizure of terminal blocks, which were equipped with certain minifigures. BB Services responded and filed an objection. The background is the allegation that the 3D trademark of the Lego minifigure was breached.
