Clemens Möller

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clemens Möller (* 1973 in Kiel ) is a German biophysicist and university professor. He is Professor of Biophysics and Vice Rector at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University .

Life

Möller studied and obtained his doctorate at the University of Kiel , the University of Basel and the University of Maryland . He worked as a scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, at Digital Instruments (now Veeco Instruments ) in Santa Barbara and in drug research at Evotec AG in Hamburg. His work on the determination of intramolecular and intramolecular forces of aquaporin molecules was named “Publication of the Year” by the Journal of Structural Biology .

The focus of Möller's research is the development of physical and biophysical measurement techniques and animal-free test procedures ( assays ) for drug and food safety and for the detection of undesirable drug side effects.

The main focus of his teaching is the early introduction of students to independent scientific work (e.g. with methods of research-based learning and the inverted classroom ) and to ways of enabling flexible forms of teaching and learning at the university with digital media. As part of a model project of a teaching and transfer project funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture , Möller founded the Sigmaringer "School of Entrepreneurship" together with Uwe Sachse.

Möller is a member of the editorial team of the author blog Techniktagebuch , which received a Grimme Online Award in the culture and entertainment category in 2019 .
