Klaus Linkenbach
Klaus Linkenbach (born January 4, 1932 in Sankt Goarshausen ; † August 6, 2000 ) was a German church musician and composer .
Life
Linkenbach was born in Sankt Goarshausen as the son of a choir director and music teacher. In 1937 the family moved to Wuppertal , where Linkenbach was a member of the Wuppertal Kurrende from 1940 to 1943 . In 1943 he moved with his parents back to the Goarshausen district, where he took on his first organist position from 1945. After 1948 he led a men's choir and a trombone choir . In 1950 he began studying Protestant church music in Schlüchtern , which he completed in 1953 with the B exam. In 1953 he was employed as a church musician in Eschweiler , in 1954 he moved to Cologne-Weiden , where he founded the Singeschule Köln-Weiden in 1961 . In 1975 he received from the examination committee of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland the great certificate of employability for A-church musicians . In 1984 Linkenbach was awarded the title of church music director by the church administration . In 1987 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
