Klaus Mezgolits

Klaus Mezgolits (born November 9, 1962 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and administrative lawyer. From 2000 to 2005 he was a member of the Burgenland State Parliament and is district captain of the Mattersburg district administration .

education and profession

Mezgolits was born as the son of the technical department head Emil Mezgolits from Steinbrunn . He first attended elementary school in Eisenstadt and graduated from BG / BRG Eisenstadt in 1982. He studied law at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1989 with the academic degree Mag. Jur. from. He then completed his judicial year at the Eisenstadt regional and district court from 1989 to 1990 and then served his military service between 1990 and 1991. Subsequently, Mezgolits entered the service of the Province of Burgenland in 1990, where he was active in the district authorities of Neusiedl am See and Mattersburg. Between 1995 and 1997 he acted as deputy district captain in Neusiedl am See and was a consultant in the environmental law department and the tanning and building law department. After that, in 1997 he switched to the office of the Burgenland state government as a lawyer for spatial planning and subsequently took over the management of the public relations department and the central service in the Burgenland state office. In 2008 Mezgolits took over the function of district captain of the Mattersburg district administration.

Mezgolits got involved as a local councilor in Steinbrunn-Zillingtal from 1987 and was elected to the local council in 1990. In 1995 he took over the position of deputy mayor, and in 1997 he became mayor . Within the party, he has also been the local party chairman since 1993, he has also been a member of the district committee since 1980 and has been a member of the SPÖ district executive since 1998. He was also elected a member of the SPÖ state party executive in 2000. Mezgolits represented the SPÖ from December 28, 2000 to October 24, 2005 in the Burgenland state parliament.
