Klaus Nathusius

Klaus Nathusius (born July 2, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German university professor , business economist and entrepreneur .

biography

Klaus Nathusius was an officer in the German Air Force from 1964 to 1969. He then studied business administration at the University of Cologne from 1969 to 1974 . Following his graduation, he became head of the project area start-up research at the department of economic planning. With his dissertation on "Corporate Venture Management" he was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD. His doctoral supervisor was Prof. Norbert Szyperski , who was highly decorated in the founding area . In the same year he founded the first German equity investment management company (GENES GmbH Venture Services), of which he has been managing partner since then. This makes him one of the pioneers of venture capital financing in Germany.

From 1978 to 2001 he was also a lecturer on business start-ups at the Universities of Cologne , Dortmund and Kassel . He also received a visiting professorship for “start-up financing” at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . Since 2001 he has been an honorary professor for entrepreneurship at the University of Kassel . From 2002 to 2005 he was largely responsible for setting up the START network for intra- and entrepreneurship. In addition, from 2003 to 2007 he was a lecturer and since then honorary professor at the Georg-August University in Göttingen .

From 1988 to 1989 he was Chairman of the Board of the European Venture Capital Association EVCA (European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, Brussels). He is a member of the executive committee of the scientific society FGF Förderkreis Gründungsforschung eV, is the managing director of Malamut Team Catalyst GmbH, holds several company investments and sits on the supervisory board / advisory board of several technology companies, e. B. CoGAP GmbH, and fund companies.

Nathusius is currently in the process of initiating an early stage VC fund for the DACH region with a focus on renewable energy and cleantech in cooperation with a US investment group .
