Klaus Nennecke

Klaus Peter Nennecke (born June 4, 1925 - September 9, 2016 ) was a German officer and brigadier general in the Bundeswehr .

Life

Klaus Nennecke completed an officer training. He was an officer in the German Armed Forces and on October 1, 1970, as a Colonel in the General Staff, succeeded Colonel in the General Staff Günther Schmelzer as Chief of Staff of the 11th Panzer Grenadier Division in Oldenburg and remained in this post until March 31, 1973, whereupon Colonel in the General Staff Konrad Manthey . Subsequently, on April 1, 1973, he succeeded Colonel Erwin Hentschel, commander of Panzer Brigade 3 "Weser-Leine" in Nienburg / Weser and held this post until March 31, 1980. In this application he was promoted to brigadier general . His successor was then on April 1, 1980 Colonel Adalbert Baron von der Recke . Brigadier General Nennecke was last appointed on December 7, 1984 as the successor to Major General Wolfgang Tebbe with the command of the 3rd Panzer Division in Buxtehude . He held this position until March 31, 1985, after which Major General Harald Schulz became his successor there. He retired on September 30, 1985.

Nennecke was an honorary knight of the Order of St. John and was involved as a board member in the Nienburg / Weser riding and driving club.
