Klaus Picard
Klaus Picard (born March 2, 1955 in Wuppertal ) is a German manager in the mineral oil industry .
Life
Picard studied at the University of Bonn and was there with his 1982 dissertation On the problem of the use of glyphosate in no-till on the grassland doctorate . He then began his professional career at Deutsche Shell . After leading positions in marketing and sales , he worked at the company's London headquarters as a shareholder representative in the chemicals sector and in liquefied gas marketing with responsibility for the development of new markets. Since 1997 he has been director of corporate communications and economic policy with responsibility for the German-speaking region and Eastern Europe , which he remained until the beginning of 2004.
On February 1, 2004, Picard was the successor to Dr. Peter Schlüter General Manager of the Mineral Oil Industry Association (MWV) in Hamburg . In connection with the introduction of the biofuel E10 in particular , it became known to a broad public.
