Klaus Schneider (born December 5, 1952 in Ingolstadt ; † April 6, 2007 in Nuremberg ) was a German painter and graphic artist.

Life

Schneider was the younger of two sons in his family and grew up in Ingolstadt's Piusviertel. Since his father, in addition to his main work as a lecturer and typesetter, worked as a painter himself in his spare time, he came into contact with art and painting at an early age and probably got his first inspiration here. After an apprenticeship as a bank clerk at the Stadtsparkasse Ingolstadt, Schneider studied painting and graphic design with Clemens Fischer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg from 1978 to 1984 . In 1981 he was made a master class student. He received the Academy Award in 1981 and 1982 and was awarded the Debutante Award in 1986, which at the same time marked his start in freelance artistic activity. Subsequently, he was awarded several times, for example with the Wolfram-von-Eschenbach-Preis , with the sponsorship award of the district of Middle Franconia (1989), with a medal in the context of the 2nd international competition for painting and graphic in Mapello / Bergamo ( 1991) and one of the art prizes of the Nürnberger Nachrichten newspaper (2002).

Schneider was a member of the Nuremberg artist association Der Kreis , which had existed since 1947, and participated in its European-wide activities.
