Klaus Sturm

Klaus Sturm (born November 13, 1934 in Gummersbach ) is a German Protestant theologian . From 1989 to 1997 he was the rector of the University of Siegen .

Life

Klaus Sturm comes from a farming family in Oberberg. After studying theology from 1965 to 1977 in Marburg, Göttingen and Bonn, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Bonn . In 1969 he was in Bonn at Ernst Bizer with a thesis on the theology of Peter Martyr Vermigli to Dr. theol. PhD. In 1977 he completed his habilitation at the University of Siegen with a thesis on ecclesiology in the Lutheran-denominational dogmatics of the Erlangen district and taught as a private lecturer.

In 1977 he was offered the professorship for Protestant theology and its didactics and in 1989 for the professorship for Protestant theology, in particular the history of theology and systematic theology . Sturm was dean of the social science faculty (1982–1983), vice rector (1983–1989) and rector (1989–1997) of the University of Siegen. In 2000 he was retired. His research areas are the history of theology and systematic theology.

He is married to Alexandra Klose; there are three sons from the marriage.
