Klaus Urner

Klaus Urner (born August 19, 1942 in Zurich or Stein am Rhein ; legal resident in Zurich) is a Swiss historian who founded the Archive for Contemporary History at ETH Zurich and managed it until the end of August 2007. Urner became Jean-François Bergier's assistant in 1973 and honorary professor of history at ETH Zurich in 1993. He has done pioneering work in securing the estates of private individuals, organizations and companies (particularly on economic history and contemporary Jewish history ) as well as in the field ofOral history .
