Klaus Weinmann

Klaus Weinmann (born May 10, 1931 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Weinmann attended elementary school and the upper secondary school Traben-Trarbach . After completing secondary school, he attended the Büchenbeuren agricultural school from 1947 to 1949 and did an agricultural apprenticeship. In 1949 he passed the assistant examination and then worked as a volunteer in agriculture until 1951 . From 1952 to 1957 he worked as a laborer and as a gas station attendant with the US armed forces in Bad Kreuznach . From 1957 to 1960 he was a clerk at the Barmer Ersatzkasse in Bad Kreuznach and from 1960 to 1979 branch manager at the Barmer Ersatzkasse Trier .

In 1959 he became a member of the SPD and was in the party from 1966 to 1988 chairman of the SPD local association Traben-Trarbach and from 1967 a member of the sub-district executive committee. In 1970 he became deputy chairman of the SPD district of Bernkastel-Wittlich .

From 1964 to 1974 he was a member of the Traben-Trarbach city council, in 1979 he became first alderman in the Traben-Trarbach community and was city mayor of Traben-Trarbach from 1989 to 1994.

From 1964 to 1994 he was a member of the district council of Zell and the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich, from 1970 to 1979 a member and 1974 parliamentary group chairman in the Traben-Trarbach municipal council.

In 1979 he was elected to the ninth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he was a member for three terms until 1991. In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for agriculture, viticulture and forestry.

In addition, from 1987 he was chairman of the social association VdK local association Traben-Trarbach-Wolf, from 1989 to 2002 chairman of the sports club VfL 1861 Traben-Trarbach e. V., 1996 founding member and chairman of the association of former members of the Bernkastel-Wittlich district council, 1997 arbitrator in the city of Traben-Trarbach, from 2006 to 2011 chairman of the association for the support of the Stumm organ in the Evangelical Church in Trarbach e. V. and member of the DAG or ver.di.
