The Sticky Ziest ( Stachys glutinosa ) is a plant from the genus of Stachys ( Stachys ) and belongs to the family of Labiatae (Lamiaceae).

description

The sticky-glandular, spherical shrub reaches heights of growth of 30 to 60 centimeters. Thanks to the persistent branches of the previous year, it is softly thorny. The leaves are narrow, oblong-spatulate , entire or notched.

The flowers stand individually or in pairs in a pseudo-whisk. The white or pink crown , with an annoyed lower lip, becomes 10 to 15 millimeters long. The calyx has pointed teeth that protrude at the end.

Flowering time is from May to July.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 34.

Occurrence

The sticky ziest is only common in Corsica , Sardinia and Kapri . Rock corridors are preferred as the location.
