Little Sisters of the Holy Family in Verona
The Little Sisters of the Holy Family in Verona ( Italian : Piccole Suore della Sacra Famiglia (Verona) , order abbreviation : PSSF ) are an order of women under papal law in the Roman Catholic Church . The congregation was founded in 1892 by Blessed Joseph Nascimbeni (1851–1922), pastor in Castelletto near Brenzone ( Italy ).
history
Together with Blessed Maria Domenica Mantovani (Mother Montavoni) (1862–1934), the pastor of Castelletto founded the congregation of the "Little Sisters" on November 6, 1892 . Mother Montavoni was the first General Superior to build the religious community. The Little Sisters had set themselves the task of bringing up children, they wanted to support orphans , organize home care for the sick and do the nursing service in hospitals.
The church was recognized on August 26, 1910 with the Decretum laudis , on June 3, 1932 the papal approbation followed. The rules of the order were finally approved on April 1, 1941. Their final name was now: "Little Sisters of the Holy Family in Verona".

The religious community expanded from Italy and established branches in Brazil and Uruguay (1976), Paraguay (1980), Albania (1994) and Angola (1996). The General House with the General Superior has its seat in Castelletto di Brenzone. In December 2005, the religious order had 884 members and looked after 129 institutions.
