history

The small bag lake was first mentioned as stagnum nomine Luttighebeytel as early as 1375 . At that time, the village of Beutel belonged to Coppe Barsdorf and his father. Two trains of yarn were allowed to be caught in the lake . The village and lake finally came to the Cistercian monastery in Zehdenick in 1392 . In the inheritance register of the Badingen and Himmelpfort rulers from 1574, the lake is called “small bag” . Schmettau's map from 1767/87 lists it as "Kleiner Beutelsee". In the Urmes table sheet 2946 Hammelspring from 1825 it is called “The small bag”.

The lake is named after the village of Beutel. Sophie Wauer in the Brandenburg name book derives the name from a plb. Basic form * Byt-1 or * Byt-ly = "Place of a Byt-1 or" Place where the people of Byt-1 live. "The personal name * Bytol is the pet form of a Slavic first name formed with the root * byt, such as For example, Bytogast (cf. Bietegast , Vorpommern-Rügen district ), Wielebyt or Radobyt. The name -byt is derived from ursl. * bytъ. In ap. means byt = dwelling, life, or č byt = essence, existence In German the original meaning was lost and was similar to bag = smaller or larger bag-like container.
