Kecskemét small area
The Kecskemét small area ( Hungarian Kecskeméti kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Bács-Kiskun county in the southern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, 14 municipalities were transferred to the subsequent district of Kecskemét (Hungarian Kecskeméti járás ), four municipalities were assigned to the newly created district Tiszakécske (Hungarian Tiszakécskei járás ).
The small area had 172,423 inhabitants (end of 2012) on an area of 1,483.06 km² and comprised 18 communities. The small area was the largest in terms of area and population in the county.
The administrative seat was in the county capital Kecskemét .
