Klemens Wesselkock

Klemens Wesselkock (born April 10, 1935 in Füchtorf ) is a German economist , he was ministerial director and from 1985 to 1995 chairman of the board of the Hamburg-Mannheimer Vers.-AG

Education and professional career

Wesselkock grew up in Schwege in the Osnabrück district . After graduation in the Westphalian Warendorf 1954 studied Wesselkock 1955-1959 Economics at the University of Cologne , graduating with a degree in business . After a commercial traineeship from 1960 to 1963, he also passed the assessor exam . Wesselkock began his career in the federal finance administration . From mid-1966 he worked in the Federal Ministry of Finance in Bonn . He was most recently Assistant Secretary of State and Secretary of State for monetary policy , monetary and credit policy . In August 1984 he moved to the board of directors of Hamburg-Mannheimer Versicherungs-AG, Hamburg , where he took over as chairman in June 1985 as the successor to Günter Kalbaum and which he held until 1995. The company he managed, in which Munich Reinsurance and Allianz Versicherung , both in Munich , played a major role , was the second largest life insurance company in Germany.
