Urs Kliby
Urs Kliby (born December 24, 1950 ), formerly Urs Kliebenschädel, known as Kliby , from Kreuzlingen , is a Swiss ventriloquist . He is a trained customs broker and worked for several years at the ticket counter of the Swiss Federal Railways in Kreuzlingen.
Together with his companion, the cheeky donkey doll Caroline, he celebrated successes especially in the 1970s and 1980s. He sold over a million records, won five gold and two platinum records and appeared on radio and television, for example in 1981 in Wetten, dass ..? .
He also lends the doll his ventriloquist voice in songs. In 1989 he performed the song Lache isch gsund, written by Charles Lewinsky , at the Grand Prix of Folk Music .
In the 1990s moderated Kliby also a few years to succeed Jürg Randegger the shipment Donnschtig-Jass of the Swiss television . At that time, the show toured Switzerland in a classic Postbus during the summer program.
During their appearances in Switzerland, Kliby and Caroline each speak in the dialect of the Canton of Thurgau .
Kliby is married and lives in Kreuzlingen.
