Kneblinghausen is a district of the city of Rüthen in the Soest district , North Rhine-Westphalia . On December 31, 2014, the village had 256 inhabitants.

history

Prehistoric times and antiquity

The area in the upper Möhneraum was already settled in the Neolithic , as is shown by tool finds. Around 450 BC The first Germanic scattered land settlements emerged on the ridges near Kneblinghausen. In the year 9 AD the Romans set up the Roman camp Kneblinghausen here .

middle Ages

The village of Kneblinghausen is founded around 900. Kneblinghausen is the first time in a document from Pope Lucius III. mentioned on February 27, 1183.

Modern times

In 1537 there was a chapel in the village . The village is destroyed during the Thirty Years War . During the Prussian period, Kneblinghausen became an independent municipality and in 1890 received a primary school, which was closed again in 1969. On January 1, 1975 it was incorporated into the city of Rüthen . In 1983 the place celebrated its 800th anniversary. In 1992, the support of the entire region prevented the establishment of a hazardous waste dump in the Kneblinghauser Forest. The St. Nicholas Chapel was extensively renovated in 2002 and existed for 100 years in 2011.
