Kościelnik (German Holzkirch ) is a village in the rural community Lubań ( Lauban -Land) in the powiat Lubański in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland .

history

Village church of St. John the Baptist

Founded around 1305 as Cunnersdorf or Konradsdorf am Queis , Holzkirch has been a church location since 1346. In 1542 the village became Protestant. Because of its bridges, the farming village was on an important thoroughfare and suffered multiple devastation from armies and the like. a. of the Hussites (1431) and Charles XII. of Sweden (1706), but also by devastating floods. Today's Church of St. John the Baptist was built in the 18th century .

In the 19th century it was connected to the Marklissa – Lauban railway . The local brick factories supplied roof tiles and clinker . A leather cardboard factory produced boot heels.

As an independent municipality, Holzkirch had around 600 inhabitants in 1939.
