Ko Jeong-un (born June 27, 1966 in Jeollabuk-do , Wanju ) is a former South Korean football player and today's coach . He spent his career in South Korea . He last played for the Pohang Steelers . He is currently under contract as a coach at Gimpo Citizen FC .
Career as a player
education
He completed his training from 1985 to 1988 at Konkuk University . After completing his training, he moved to Cheonan Ilhwa Chunma FC .
Player career
In 1989, Ko Jeong-un started playing with Cheonan Ilhwa Chunma FC . There he stayed until 1996. During this time he ran a total of 173 times for this club and scored 34 goals. While at Ilhwa Chunma FC, he won the K League seasons in 1993 , 1994 and 1995 . He also won the Adidas Cup in 1992 with Ilhwa . He also won the Asian Club Championship in 1995 . In the following year, they won the Asian Super Cup in 1996. In late 1996 he left the club for Japan to Cerezo Osaka . There he completed 29 games and scored three goals. In mid-1998 he moved back to the K League for the Pohang Steelers . By the end of 2001 he ran 35 times for the Steelers and scored 14 goals. At the end of 2001 he ended his playing career.
National team
Ko Jeong-un was appointed to the national team for the first time in 1989. For South Korea he ran a total of 77 times and scored ten goals. With the national team, he was able to win the bronze medal at the Asian Games in 1990 . In 1997 he resigned from the national team and ended his international career.
Career as a coach
Two years after his resignation, he became a coach at Sun Moon University , where he was in charge of the soccer team. At the beginning of 2004 he moved to the Jeonnam Dragons and became an assistant coach there. The following year he became an assistant coach at FC Seoul and stayed there until the end of 2006. In 2008 Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma FC hired him as a U-18 coach. At the end of 2008 he left the club again. Between 2010 and 2011 he was a coach at Pungsaeng High School . Seven years after his last coaching position, he became the coach of FC Anyang . In his premiere cup season he met Changwon City FC , which he and his team could beat 2-1. In the next round, they met Mokpo City FC , which they lost 2-1.
