Kocahasanlı is a place on the Mediterranean coast in the Erdemli district of the Turkish province of Mersin . Since a regional reform in 2014, the place is no longer a municipality , but a district of the Erdemli district center.
Kocahasanlı is located in the south of the district on the D-400 highway, about 4 kilometers southwest of Erdemli and 40 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Mersin . The place lives mostly from agriculture and tourism.
About three kilometers west of Kocahasanlı the Limonlu Çayı (ancient Lamos ) flows into the sea, which in ancient times formed the border between the plains (Kilikia Pedias) and the rough Kilikien (Kilikia Tracheia) . In Kocahasanlı, a road branches inland towards Güzeloluk to the north from the thoroughfare and passes the villages of Üçtepe , Çiriş , Gücüş and Arslanlı . Behind Üçtepe, a side street leads to the ancient settlement of Köşkerli . In Arslanlı another road leads to the west parallel to the Lamostal, via which one reaches the ruins of Üçayaklı , Yeniyurt Kalesi , Veyselli and Tapureli.
