The Kohlbergspitze is 2202 m above sea level. A. high summit of the main ridge (Danielkamm) of the Ammergau Alps in Tyrol , Austria . Less common names of the mountain are Zigersteinjoch , Stapferwiesjoch and Zigerstein (also the name of a small rock tower with a summit cross on the southwest slope of the Kohlbergspitze). With its 300-meter-high north walls and the only moderately sloping grass slope in the western part of the main ridge, the mountain is the first prominent peak of the main ridge.
Ascent
The Kohlbergspitze can be climbed on a marked trail in three hours from Bichlbach . The path leads first through the wooded southern slope, later through pine fields and finally over a grass slope from the southeast to the summit. An alternative ascent leads in alpine difficulty UIAA I from the west over Schrofengelände to the highest point.
