The Koktuli River is an approximately 100 km long left tributary of the Mulchatna River in southwestern Alaska .
The source of the Koktuli is a nameless lake at a height of 287 m , 25 km northwest of the settlement Iliamna and 22 km from the north bank of the Iliamna Lake . From its headwaters it flows in a westerly and later in a west-northwest direction through the hilly landscape north of Iliamna Lake. 15 km above the mouth, the Swan River meets the Koktuli River from the right. This then turns towards the west-southwest and finally flows into the Mulchatna River 75 km northeast of New Stuyahok . The Koktuli River shows a strongly meandering behavior along its entire course . The catchment area reaches heights of only 850 m and is free of glaciers . Accordingly, the maximum monthly outflows occur as early as May.
