The Kolping Cross is a monument to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kolping Family Gieselmann for the Catholic priest and founder of the Kolpingwerk Adolph Kolping (1813-1865) above the local situation of Gieselmann , community Neuhof (Fulda) in osthessischen , district of Fulda , in the eastern corridor "An der Zellert".
History / description
The 16 meter high cross standing on a concrete foundation with a span of 7 meters on the cross beam was felled in 1979 from a larch log near the “ Herrgottseiche ” on the Gieseler pilgrimage route to Kleinheiligkreuz . It was built by members of the Kolping Giesel family in the Engel sawmill in Sickels . From a distance, the Kolping Cross looks like a mountain cross over the local cemetery .
Memorial plaque
When the Kolping Cross was erected, a sandstone block with a memorial plaque with the following text was unveiled:

Church consecration
On July 1, 1979, the Cross of was Präses pastor Rudolf Faulstich at the anniversary Mass for the 50th anniversary of consecrated on site. The music association "Heimatklänge Giesel" took over the musical design.
The municipality Neuhof is the owner of the so-called "merchant-Ruh", a residual way area of land consolidation Gieselmann, and put the land area under Mayor Martin Hohmann, mayor Karl Schneider and Bruno's then block as chairman of the Kolping family free of charge.
