The Komagelva ( Sami : Storrajohka ) is a 45 km long flux generated by the local Vardø and Vadsø in the Norwegian Fylke Finn Mark og Troms flows. The river has its origin in the Varangervidda in the center of the Varanger peninsula . It flows in an easterly direction through the eastern part of the Varanger peninsula and flows into the Barents Sea . Much of the Komagelva catchment area is in the Varangerhalvøya National Park .
The Komagelva is known as the salmon river .
With the Verneplan I for vassdrag program , the river has been under special protection since 1973.
