Local elections in Rösrath
The local elections in Rösrath take place every five years. The district town of Rösrath is part of the Rheinisch-Bergisch district .

In the elections for mayor, Marcus Mombauer (CDU) was elected on September 21, 2008 with 44 percent of the vote; he took office on December 1, 2008.
In the local elections in 2009 , citizen Dieter von Niessen successfully ran as an individual applicant.
In the 2014 municipal elections , seven associations ran for the city council: CDU , SPD , Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , FDP , Die Linke , Bürger für Rösrath (BfR), AfD, Dieter von Niessen (direct candidate in Kleineichen ). In 2014, incumbents Marcus Mombauer (CDU), Dirk Mau (SPD) and Frank D. Albert-von der Ohe (Die Linke) ran for the office of mayor.
