The Kongde Ri (also Kwangde Ri or Kwande ) is a multi-peaked mountain in the Himalayas in the southeast of the Rolwaling Himal mountain range .
The Kongde Ri is located in the Lumding Himal ridge in the Khumbu region of the Nepalese administrative region Sagarmatha . The Kongde Ri reaches a height of 6187 m . The mountain village of Namche Bazar is located northeast of the mountain.
A Nepalese expedition managed the first ascent of Kongde Ri over the south ridge. Lhakpa Tenzing, Sonam Gyalzen, Shambhu Tamang and Sonam Hisi reached the summit on October 17, 1975. The lower eastern summit ( 6093 m ⊙ ) was first climbed in 1973 by a German mountaineering group.
The Kongde Ri is considered a trekking peak and is listed by the Nepal Mountaineering Association in category "B", the easier climbing peaks.
