San-Lorenzo , in Corsican "San Lurenzu", is a municipality on the French island of Corsica . The inhabitants call themselves Sanluzenzinchi .

geography

The scattered settlement of San-Lorenzo lies in the west of the Castagniccia at about 700 meters above sea level. Neighboring municipalities are Saliceto in the north, Nocario in the northeast, Campana in the east, Pie-d'Orezza in the southeast, Cambia in the south, Érone in the southwest, Lano in the west and Aiti in the northwest. The hamlets of Prionzi, Borgo, Coibiti, Oliva, Casanova, Forci and San Quilico also belong to San-Lorenzo .

history

In 1954, the canton of San-Lorenzo was created and the town of the same name was named the main town (Chef-lieu). 1971–1973 this was merged with the cantons of Piedicorte-di-Gaggio and Sermano to form the new canton of Bustanico.
