Antisanti is a municipality with 546 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Corse department on the French island of Corsica .
geography
Antisanti is located at an altitude of 657 meters above sea level, 57 kilometers northeast of Ajaccio , the capital of the Corsica region. The village is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Casevecchie , Giuncaggio and Pietroso . The municipality has an area of 47.95 square kilometers and is bordered to the north by the valley of the Tavignano . The hamlet of Pietre Bianche belongs to the municipality.
history
Antisanti was founded when Corsica was a fiefdom of Pisa (1077–1284). The chronicler Giovanni Della Grossa (1388–1464) mentioned the place. In 1564 the town supported the freedom fighter Sampiero Corso (1497–1567) in his fight against the Republic of Genoa . Genoese troops then plundered and pillaged the village. In 1729 Antisanti had 38 households (feu fiscal) . In 1762 Antisanti was the scene of a skirmish between rebels and Genoese troops, the town was then set on fire and occupied by Genoese troops in 1763. In 1770 the place had 189 inhabitants. Around 1900 there were 159 houses, 26 bread ovens, 6 oil presses and 3 mills in Antisanti.

Attractions
The Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens church in Antisanti was built in 1894 in the Baroque style. The oldest house in Antisanti is Casa Pietrana, it is decorated with a relief from the 14th century.
economy
The most important line of business in Antisanti is the cultivation of citrus plants , especially clementines . 40 percent of French clementine production comes from Antisanti. In the hamlet of Pietre Bianche, livestock is mainly farmed. Other industries are the cultivation of grain and viticulture . In the municipality there are controlled designations of origin (AOC) for brocciu , honey (Miel de Corse - Mele di Corsica) , olive oil (Huile d'olive de Corse - Oliu di Corsica) , chestnut flour (Farine de châtaigne corse - Farina castagnina corsa) and wine (Vin de Corse and Corse blanc, rosé or rouge) as well as Protected Geographical Indications (IGP) for clementines (Clémentine de Corse) and wine (Ile de Beauté blanc, rosé or rouge and Méditerranée blanc, rosé and rouge) .
There are several shops, craft shops and rural hostels in Antisanti.
